Blog #18: February 9, 2021 - Seal Oil Vs. Fish Oil

Many people know the benefits of omega-3 and take supplements to boost their health. However, omega-3 is a broad category with many different types of supplements. It can be found in fish oil, seal oil, algae oil, or other plant-based oils. There are several differences. Today I just want to reiterate some of the differences between fish oil and seal oil. To summarize the difference, there are a few major things:

• Allergies: If someone is allergic to certain types of fish, they may have an allergy to fish oils. Seal oil comes from a mammalian source and thus would not have the fish allergens.
• No "Fish Burps" with seal oil
• Contains DPA which is a type of omega-3 rarely found in fish oil
• Sustainably sourced
• Humane
