Congratulations to the Qalipu First Nation on the official launch of Waspu Seal Oil! The Qalipu First Nation is a Mi'kmaq First Nation based in Newfoundland and established in 2011 as an Indigenous Band under the Indian Act.
The First Nation has launched a new seal oil product which will hopefully be sold throughout the world. The launch will be helped by money from the provincial government to the amount of $25,000. The money is being given to the Qalipu Development Corporation.
John Davis, manager of the Qalipu Development Corporation believes his product will find a market not only in Canada but also throughout the world. Because the product is made by a First Nation, it has the potential of being sold in countries which ban other seal imports. This is because many nations have allowed exceptions for the sale of Indigenous goods, such as this one.
Waspu, which is the brand name of the Seal Oil being sold by the Qalipu First Nation will be manufactured by Carino, the same group that manufactures Terra Nova Seal Oil which is sold on our site! (Note: This website is not the website of the manufacturer. To contact them directly, please go to Carino.ca).
We welcome the introduction of this product. We know it will be highest quality as it is produced by a top-quality producer: Carino.
I have not been able to locate an e-commerce website for Waspu Seal Oil as of now, but if you are interested in purchasing seal oil, please see the links below. We offer free shipping on orders over $80 throughout Canada. I look forward to serving you!
Good luck to Qalipu First Nation and the launch of their new product: Waspu!
